Fillers
Fillers
As we age, we lose collagen and elastin, both of which help us look youthful. Fillers restore that lost volume to the face, smoothing deep lines and folds. Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that can be injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Fillers can be used around the eyes, cheeks, mouth, and jawline. Lip fillers are administered directly into the lip tissue.
Fillers can help:
- Plump lips
- Deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss
- Correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
- Augmentation of the chin region to improve the chin profile
- injection into the undereye hollows to improve the appearance of undereye hollows
- Improve moderate to severe loss of jawline definition
The result is a smoother, more youthful appearance with minimal “downtime” and maximum safety. Fillers are very popular with both men and women and can be a cost-effective way to look younger without surgery.
There are three types of fillers that we carry here at Hull Aesthetics. They are Hyaluronic Acid, Calcium hydroxylapatite, and Poly-L-lactic Acid fillers.
Hylaruronic Acid Fillers:
Many fillers we have are Hyaluronic Acid (HA) based. HA is a naturally occurring substance that is found in our skin, helping keep it hydrated and plump. Our Juvederm family of fillers, our Restylane products, and Belotero are HA based. The effects of these fillers are seen immediately.
Biostimulators
Two important components in how the skin changes over time are collagen and elastin, because they help keep facial lines and wrinkles at bay. Collagen and elastin both contribute to the skin’s strength and elasticity. Unfortunately, aging and environmental factors make it harder for your body to produce these components. Reduced amounts of collagen and elastin can cause facial skin to wrinkle and sag.
We carry Radiesse and Sculptra
Radiesse is made of a CaHA gel matrix. Upon injection the Radiesse CaHA gel matrix provides immediate improvement. CaHA particles then integrate into your skin and create a “scaffold” that stimulates production of collagen and elastin. As the gel carrier breaks down, a firm network of collagen fibers forms. Formed collagen and elastin replaces the correction provided by the gel carrier, smoothing lines and promoting renewed skin structure.
Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, which helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles.Sculptra works with your body within the deep dermis to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume. As the PLLA microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production.Rebuilt collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds
Downtime?
Bruising and swelling are common after injection of fillers and can lasts up to 5-10 days. No heavy exercise 24-48 hours after
Before the treatment, the area will be cleaned. While many fillers contain lidocaine, you may opt for a topical anesthetic, an ice pack, or Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide.
Results?
The effectiveness of a filler is based on it’s composition. However, other factors such as the area of treatment and the patient help determine length. HA filler results are immediate and last 12-24 months. Radiesse is immediate and collagen production begins around 3 months. Sculptra collagen production begins around 3 months.
