Scalp PRP

Hair Loss Treatment with PRP

WHAT IS HAIR LOSS TREATMENT WITH PRP?
Hair loss affects roughly 40 million men and 25 million women in the United States. You can read more about hair loss here.

Hair loss is caused by hormone imbalances like estrogen/testosterone or thyroid irregularities. It can also be caused by stress (physical/physiological/mental) or trauma (pulling the hair). But, the most common cause is genetics. To determine the type of hair loss, we may have you undergo blood tests or biopsies.

Once we have pinpointed the cause of hair loss, we can help you with options. Available treatment options are nutrition, vitamin supplements, and oral medications. There are also platelet-rich plasma injections, known as PRP.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy for hair loss is a three-step medical treatment. A person’s blood is drawn, processed, and then injected into the scalp.

Downtime

There is very little downtime with Scalp PRP injections. Avoid Aspirin, Advil, and alcohol. There may be some mild tenderness and swelling post treatment. You must wait 24 hours to shampoo the hair.

Results

Before and after pictures are taken each treatment to track your progress. It can take 6 months – 1 year to see tangible results. For the best results, we recommend our custom Hull Aesthetics Hair Care System. This consists of a shampoo, conditioner, and hair growth serum.

Candidate

Good candidates for Scalp PRP are anyone who is having mild to moderate hair loss and the underlying medical condition is also being treated.
