Dr. Howell is an Arkansas native who was born and raised in Hot Springs. He attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

He then attended medical school at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He was awarded the Dean’s Achievement Award and the Academic Excellence Award for having the highest GPA in his graduating class. He also served as a teaching assistant in the anatomy lab while enrolled as a medical student.

Dr. Howell then relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, to complete his Internship and Dermatology Residency at Orange Park Hospital. He was involved in clinical research throughout his Dermatology Residency and is published in peer-reviewed medical journals. He served as Academic Chief Resident in his final year of residency.

He is a board-eligible dermatologist and maintains an active membership with the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. 

When he is not working, Dr. Howell enjoys spending time with his wife and their son. They enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. They also enjoy the outdoors and love all of the hiking that Northwest Arkansas has to offer!
